Charles Spencer Anderson Design Firm and Plastock.

This design firm, which is based in Minneapolis, specializes in vintage and repro designs. Many of these toys were derived from old plastic toys, collected over the years, and reworked, photographed and photoshopped. Great and OK to use as stock art. Pretty cool.

Do you remember your first Big Wheel that you got as kid? Well, in case you still have it somewhere in the garage, it’s time to take it out and tune it up. Take a look at this yearly event that is coming up again on March 23rd, 2008.

It takes place on Vermont Street, which is a street in - where else- San Francisco! They never do anything this fun in Los Angeles do they? Vermont Street is more crooked and twisty than Lombard Street, according to reports. What’s really amazing about this photograph, from last year’s event, is that there are people NOT wearing a helmet!

I just came across this photo from the Class of 2005. I was the instructor of the 15 week class that was sponsored by Disney Consumer Products, Global Toys. We were able to select any of Disney’s vast array of properties and develop concepts for toys , children’s furniture, electronics, children’s accessories and lifestyle products. The results were fabulous, and sometime later I may add a video of some of the presentations the students gave to the Disney executives. These students have graduated and hold design positions in companies around the world, including Hasbro, Mattel, Spin Master, Jakks Pacific, and more. We also have numerous graduates working as toy designers at Disney! They all are actively employed in in the toy and related industries.
