Just when I thought everyone had used and abused the Mickey Mouse image in every way imaginable - I wake up one day and see ….

…apparently as the former Soviet state of Georgia is collapsing, under a mass of riot-cops, the standard issue of police riot gear includes the bizarre Mickey Mouse gas mask.
I can hear Walt turning over in his grave right now.

There’s a great show starting October 6th at the LATD Museum. One of the artists with work in the exhibit is Tim Biskup. He’s an artist I’ve written about before on this blog and does some fun stuff that is well worth the time of any Toy Designer!

Yesterday I went down to the LA Convention Center to check out the Wired NextFest Show.Of course, I always keep my eyes open for interactive web ideas and toy design.
There were many interesting and concept provoking exhibits from people exploring technology. Some were a bit dry, to say the least, but there were seeds of ideas there that get the creative minds thinking.
One exhibit explored the area of interactive story telling. The web address for additional graphics and explanation of the process can be found at www.txtualhealing.com . Here’s one panel from the web site. This might also be an interesting way to approach an interactive web comic. You just have to write the story and create the art for the panels!! Think about it…
